In a spirited show of commitment to sustainable water management, the Sta. Ignacia Water District (SIWAD) proudly participated in the World Water Day 2025 activities organized by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA). Held on March 22, 2025, this year’s celebration carried the global theme “Glacier Preservation”, highlighting the urgent need to protect the world’s freshwater sources amid the growing threat of climate change.
SIWAD joined fellow water districts and stakeholders across the country in a series of events aimed at raising awareness about water conservation, climate resilience, and the importance of safeguarding water ecosystems. The district’s delegation took part in educational forums, tree-planting drives, and a symbolic unity walk that underscored the collective responsibility of ensuring water security for future generations.
In collaboration with LWUA, SIWAD also launched a local campaign to promote responsible water use among households and businesses in Sta. Ignacia. Informational materials, school outreach programs, and community clean-up activities were rolled out to engage residents and inspire action.
“We are honored to be part of this nationwide movement,” said a representative from SIWD. “World Water Day reminds us that access to clean water is not just a service—it’s a shared duty. Through our participation, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering safe, sustainable water to the people of Sta. Ignacia.”
The event also served as a platform for recognizing local champions of water stewardship. SIWD’s efforts in improving water infrastructure and promoting environmental awareness were acknowledged as part of LWUA’s broader initiative to spotlight exemplary practices among water districts.
As the world faces mounting water challenges, SIWAD’s active involvement in World Water Day 2025 reflects its dedication to being not just a utility provider, but a proactive guardian of one of life’s most vital resources
